Kanji Learning Today: Workbook 1 is a PDF ebook that presents 1006 Japanese characters (kanji). These are the characters included in the Education Characters section of the Joyo Kanji list set by the Japanese Ministry of Education.
The workbook presents the characters in grade levels that parallel those used by Japanese schools, assuring steady growth from basic characters to more difficult characters.
Kanji Learning Today also implements a unique system that greatly boosts learning — 20 kanji characters are presented on each page, with practice squares next to each. This allows the learner to quickly practice a large group of characters within a short period of time.
While the workbook has the primary purpose of helping a person who is studying the Japanese language, it can also be used by those who use Japanese characters for artistic purposes. A stroke order diagram for each character shows the accepted method of completing the character.

The combination of workbooks will allow the learner to quickly develop full-scale reading ability.

Stroke Order Page. Stroke-by-stroke illustrations that demonstrate the accepted method of writing each of the characters.
Description/Example Page. This is a collection of pages that have one-to-one correspondence with the Practice Pages and present a description (based on pictographic origin) and word examples for each character.
Detailed Guide. An in-depth explanation section about workbook methods and kanji background.
Index. Lists every major reading for each character. PDF search enables quick location of a character.
The ebook package also provides Hiragana Practice Pages for learning this essential syllabary.
